California Flex Alert Program
Program Overview
Flex Alerts and voluntary calls for California residents to reduce their energy usage during periods of peak demand. Participating in a Flex Alert by taking simple energy saving actions protects vulnerable community members and keeps California powered up.
Program Objectives
Community-based organizations (CBOs) like TehamaTogether are an integral part of the Flex Alert program. Our primary objectives for CBO engagement are the following:
1. Educate residents on what Flex Alerts are, why they happen, and how to respond to a Flex Alert by shifting electricity usage.
2. Activate residents to reduce energy usage when a Flex Alert is issued.
