Testimonials

Tehama Together's Community Food Alliance was one of two organizations that helped the Corning Chamber of Commerce re-launch their Thursday Farmers' Market in 2021.
With the generous assistance from Tehama Together offering scholarships in the form of free booth space to any farmer, grower or rancher that wanted to participate, it allowed many small producers to add the new market to their schedule, whereas they may have been hesitant to take on another market since it had been closed for 2 seasons.

Tehama Together, under the leadership of Orle Jackson and a committed Board of Directors, has created a positive impact in Tehama County far beyond its size and budget. The organization is a model of collaboration. It connects organizations to one another and gets things done. Through our partnership with Tehama Together, we have been able to bring the 2-1-1 information and referral service 24-7-365 to Tehama residents, serving thousands of residents each year via phone, text and web. Tehama Together also has helped us forge important relationships with Latino Outreach of Tehama County, Empower Tehama, St. Elizabeth Hospital and numerous other organizations. We love working with Tehama Together because the organization makes things happen. Its impact on the community cannot be overstated.

Red Gate Ranch is grateful for the work the Community Food Alliance is doing for the community of Tehama county. Specifically, we applaud the actions it takes to educate the public on nutrition, support local small farms (like ours), as well as supporting Sustainable Agriculture. The CFA's understanding that without sustainable, resilient agriculture, there will be no healthy, local food is greatly appreciated.

Tehama Together is a shining beacon in our community, coming to the assistance of those less fortunate. By putting our children first, Tehama Together was instrumental in ensuring that every child gets a toy at our local Christmas Festival. Their kindness and generosity of spirit shows in every endeavor they undertake.

I work for the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, the local affiliate for Feeding America. I came to work with, and to be involved with Orle Jackson, Tehama Together and the local non-profits that make up Tehama Together about four years ago. I am impressed by the connection and the willingness of the local hunger relief nonprofits to work together, to support each other and that the people they serve are their focus. I work with nonprofits in five different counties in the north state; only in Tehama County is there that sense of camaraderie. Tehama Together and the nonprofits that make the well-rounded group have a real understanding of the needs in Tehama County and work very hard every day to help those in the communities they serve.

As a representative of PATH, I enjoy participating in the Tehama County Nonprofit Roundtable as convened by Tehama Together and United Way of Northern California. These monthly meetings provide an opportunity for us to learn about the activities of other nonprofits and to share the activities of PATH. These meetings also provide a time for us to learn of resources that are helpful in our community efforts.

As a new business that opened in 2020 during one of the toughest modern day economic times, it is easy to say we wouldn’t have been able to do it alone. With so much support from our local community and especially Tehama Together which has supported us from the beginning. From local business outreach and interaction within our city, this nonprofit is dedicated to reach so many of our local peoples and local businesses while connecting us through similarities. As a small bakery we focus on local produce. Tehama Together was able to connect us with our local farmers and even showcase our items at local events all in the name of “SUPPORT!” With such a friendly and hardworking staff, it is always a pleasure to work with them.
